Speaking Life Into Motherhood EP 55

You're not incapable—you're standing on the riverbank 🚣‍♀️

Hi friend,

I need to ask you something honest:

Where are you standing on the riverbank?

You know what I mean. That place where you're watching other moms navigate the rapids—homeschooling, special needs parenting, advocating fiercely, handling meltdowns with grace—and you think, "I could never do that. She's just naturally more patient/brave/capable than me."

But what if that's not the whole story?

What if the difference you're seeing isn't natural ability—it's obedience?

What if she just got in the boat?

In this today's episode, I share one of my favorite analogies about my own journey. For so long, I stood on the riverbank. I wasn't swimming upstream (going against God), but I also wasn't getting in the boat. I kept waiting to feel ready, capable, equipped.

And God kept whispering: "Get in the boat. Trust me. I'll take you where you need to go."

Friend, when I finally got in that boat, doors started opening. Not because I suddenly became more capable, but because I was finally moving in the direction God was leading instead of analyzing whether I could handle it from the shore.

And I'm not going to lie to you—it hasn't felt like floating on a lazy river. Most days it feels like white water rafting. There are rapids. There are moments when I think, "This is too much."

But God's got my life jacket on. He's in the boat with me. And every time I think I'm going under, He proves faithful.

The patience I needed? That came IN the boat. The courage I needed? That came IN the boat. The strength I needed? That came IN the boat.

None of it came on the shore.
