Whether you want to homeschool or just want to survive summer — this one is for you
Hi friend!
We are already in the craziness of May! It's been a hot second since I got an email out, but I have been getting out podcast episodes and I wanted to keep you in the loop.
I recently started a "home education" series. It was not just born out of a love for homeschooling. It was born out of a deep belief that you, as a mom, are the most powerful educator your child will ever have. Whether you are a full-time homeschooler, a public school parent looking for ways to support your child at home, or a mama just trying to figure out how to get through the next three months of summer without losing your mind — this series has something for you.
EP 63: Why Every Christian Mom Needs a Home Education Plan (Even If You're Not Homeschooling)
We've got three more amazing episodes from our homeschool mini series that are already live and I want to make sure you know about them too!
EPISODE 64: You Know Your Child Better Than Anyone: How to Start Homeschooling Without the Overwhelm or the Big Budget
Tina is a former public school teacher who educated her own daughters at home from the very beginning through graduation. She also built the Homeschool Resource Roadmap, a completely free database of over 7,400 curriculum resources organized by subject, learning style, cost, and faith alignment.
This conversation is a beautiful permission slip for any mama feeling overwhelmed. Tina talks about why comparing your child to a grade level standard may actually be holding them back, why you do not need a curriculum to get started, and how simply following your child's curiosity and moving them forward from where they are today is not only enough — it is better. Whether you are homeschooling or just trying to be intentional this summer, her wisdom is for you.
EP 64: You Know Your Child Better Than Anyone: How to Start Homeschooling Without the Overwhelm or the Big Budget
EPISODE 65: This Former Teacher's Guide to Going From School to Homeschool Even When Your Child Has an IEP with Janae Daniels
Janae is a licensed teacher, mom of six, and host of the School to Homeschool podcast who pulled four kids — two heading into high school — in the middle of a pandemic. She had a terrible first day, everyone cried, and then a piano tuner showed up at her door and accidentally gave her kids the best lesson they had ever had. That moment changed everything about how she understood learning.
Janae has kids with ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and twice-exceptional needs. She talks about how removing the pressure of performing for a classroom all day was the single biggest thing that helped her sensory child regulate, and why the kind of slow, play-based, interest-led summer you are already dreaming about is not doing nothing — it is exactly how children learn best.

Episode 66: The Neurodivergent Homeschooling Summit
I recently sat down with Afsaneh Moradian, founder of MLC Homeschool Coaching and host of the Neurodiverse Homeschooling Summit. The summit is running right now through May 21st, it is completely free, and it features 22 speakers covering topics like emotional regulation, reducing meltdowns during learning time, protecting your marriage, screen time, and so much more.
I am one of the featured speakers and my talk is on picky eating through a whole-body lens — what is actually happening in the body and what families can do about it. Sessions are about 15 minutes and nothing is live so you watch on your own schedule.
After working with some amazing mamas this past year, I realized that I could better serve in a course/group coaching format. I'm so excited to announce The Speaking Life Into Homeschool group coaching program is almost ready, and it was built for mamas like the ones in this community — Christian moms of children with all variety of needs and skills who are pouring everything they have into their kids and running on empty themselves.
It is not just about surviving. It is about learning how to truly thrive in your home education journey — body, mind, and spirit — while you are in the thick of one of the hardest and most holy callings there is.
I will be sharing all the details and ways you can get huge discounts and bonuses next week!
"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:25
Mama, however education looks in your home right now — whether it is a full homeschool day, an afternoon of intentional play, or just trying to keep everyone fed and loved this summer — you are doing something that matters. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
Remember mama: You're doing better than you think, and your children are blessed to have you fighting for them every single day. It's okay to take care of yourself too—in fact, it's necessary.
Have a topic you want discussed? Interested in being interviewed on the podcast? Looking for natural solutions for your family? I'm just an email away! :) I'd love to hear from you!
P.S. If these episodes resonated with you, I'd be so grateful if you could leave a review on your podcast app. Your words help other mamas find encouragement when they need it most!
