Speaking Life Into Motherhood EP 49

Beyond Behaviors:

Understanding Your Uniquely Wired Child

Hi friend,

Can you believe it's been ONE YEAR since Speaking Life Into Motherhood launched? 🎉

What started as a scary leap of faith—just me, a microphone, and a mission to support Christian moms like you—has become a community of hundreds of mothers who refuse to walk this journey alone.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for listening. Thank you for trusting me with your 2 AM Google searches and your deepest mama-heart worries.

And because it's the podcast's birthday week (and mine too!), I have a small favor to ask. I would be so blessed if you would leave a review this week!

This Week's Episode: Understanding Your Uniquely Wired Child

I brought back one of my favorite people (and now one of MY coaches)—professional counselor and parent coach Jami Kirkbride.

If you've been stuck in that terrible place of knowing something's different with your child but having no idea what to do about it...

If you've spent hours researching highly sensitive child, ADHD, autism, or behavior concerns- only to feel MORE confused...

If your pediatrician dismissed your concerns or immediately pushed medication without exploring other options...

This episode is for you.

Jami walks us through:

  • The REAL signs of ADHD (hint: it's not just the "bouncing boy")
  • Why girls are so often overlooked—and what to watch for instead
  • How to know if it's personality or something more
  • The three steps to take right now: Find Perspective, Find Support, Find Tools
  • Practical tools you can implement TODAY (visual timers, calm care kits, sensory strategies)
  • What to do when your pediatrician isn't listening

Biblical Reflection

Yesterday morning, as I reflected on another year on this earth, (Last year I was convinced I was turning 38, but I was actually 37 so I feel like I've gain a whole extra year! lol) I found myself sitting with Jeremiah 29—not just verse 11, but the whole chapter.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11

And here's what hit me: the Israelites were in exile. In HARD times. In circumstances they desperately wanted to change.

But God told them to pray. To multiply. To prosper. Even there. Even in the exile.

He didn't promise instant change. He didn't say, "Just wait—I'll fix everything tomorrow."

He said: Make the best of your current situation. Be present. And know I'm working toward your good.

Mama, if you're in a hard season with your child right now—if you're in the "exile" of appointments and meltdowns and research spirals and diagnostic uncertainty—God is saying the same thing to you.

He's working toward your good. But He's also calling you to be present RIGHT HERE. To multiply and prosper even in this hard place.

Not by waiting for everything to change.

But by showing up today. By taking the next right step. By extending grace to your child and yourself. By building your community and deepening your trust.

God has plans for you and your child. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you.

Those plans are unfolding right now—even in the hard.

🎉 HELP US CELEBRATE OUR 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

You guys, I can't believe we've been doing this for a whole year. One entire year of episodes. One year of late-night editing. One year of praying that these conversations would reach the mama who desperately needed to hear them.

And they did. Because of YOU.

So here's my wish: Would you leave a review this week?

I know it seems small, but reviews are how other exhausted mamas find this podcast when they're Googling "signs of ADHD" at 2 AM. Your 2-minute review could be the lifeline another mom desperately needs.

Here's how:

  • Apple Podcasts: Scroll to the bottom of the Speaking Life Into Motherhood page and tap "Write a Review"
  • Spotify: Tap the star rating at the top of the show page
  • Other apps: Most have a rating or review option!

Bonus: Screenshot your review and email it to me or tag me on Instagram (@speaking_life_into_motherhood), and I'll enter you in a drawing for a FREE Priority Plan Coaching session ($149 value)! Winner announced next week. 🎁

Hearing how this podcast has impacted you is truly the best birthday gift I could ask for. 💛

Imagine This...

Imagine not feeling stressed about what to do next.

Imagine knowing you have a plan for the next few steps to address your child's development.

Imagine finally sleeping through the night instead of Googling "signs of ADHD" at 2 AM.

Imagine confidently telling your pediatrician, therapist, or that well-meaning family member exactly what your child needs—because you actually know.

That's what clarity feels like. And it's exactly what I want to give you.

If you're drowning in overwhelm, stuck in analysis paralysis, or just exhausted from trying to figure out what your child needs most—I want to help you get clarity.

Priority Plan Coaching gives you a personalized 60-minute session where we'll create an action plan that tells you exactly what your child needs most and what to do FIRST.

Speaking Life Into Motherhood EP 55 You're not incapable—you're standing on the riverbank 🚣♀️ Hi friend, I need to ask you something honest: Where are you standing on the riverbank? You know what I mean. That place where you're watching other moms navigate the rapids—homeschooling, special needs parenting, advocating fiercely, handling meltdowns with grace—and you think, "I could never do that. She's just naturally more patient/brave/capable than me." But what if that's not the whole story?...

Speaking Life Into Motherhood EP 52 & 53 The biblical truth about childhood anxiety you need to hear Hi friend, Have you ever laid awake at night worrying about your child's worrying? Wondering if you should be concerned about the way they hesitate before trying new things, or ask the same anxious questions over and over? Wondering if you're overreacting—or if you're missing something important that your child desperately needs you to see? And in those moments, does your anxiety about their...

Speaking Life Into Motherhood EP 48 Beyond ADHD: Simple Systems For Executive Functioning Challenges Every Exhausted Mom Needs to Know Hey mama, Growing up, my parents lovingly called me "the Tasmanian Devil." I could walk into a perfectly clean room and within minutes—tornado. Clothes everywhere. Drawers open. Papers scattered. I wasn't trying to be messy. I genuinely didn't even notice. And honestly? I still struggle with this. The procrastination. The forgetting where I put things. The...
