Hey friend,
I have a question for you: Do you know your mission as a mom?
Not what you think it should be. Not what works for your friend or that mom on Instagram. YOUR mission—the unique calling God has placed on your heart for this season.
This week on the podcast, I got really vulnerable about my journey to discovering mine. I shared about the infertility and miscarriage that brought me to my knees, that moment in the shower when I finally surrendered control to God, and how my son's dismissed struggles became the catalyst for everything I do now.
But more than just sharing my story, I walked through the exact five steps YOU can use to create your own mission statement this week.
Because here's what I've learned: when you don't know your mission, every decision feels equally overwhelming. But when you have clarity about your "why," it becomes a filter that helps you say yes to the right things and no to everything else—without guilt.

Biblical Reflection
Mama, I know you're tired of trying to figure it all out on your own. The therapies, the interventions, the endless decisions about what's best for your child—it's exhausting when you're carrying it all alone.
But what if God is inviting you into something different? What if He's asking you to surrender the control you've been white-knuckling and trust that He has a mission for you that's bigger than your pain?
Your hard things aren't wasted. The infertility, the diagnoses, the dismissive doctors, the late nights wondering if you're doing enough—God is weaving all of it into your unique calling. He's shaping your mission through every single struggle.
When you know your mission, those hard days don't define you. They refine you. They become part of the story God is writing, the purpose He's revealing, the calling He's preparing you for.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6 |
Prayer for This Week
Father, I'm tired of trying to do this on my own. I'm tired of the overwhelm and the confusion and wondering if I'm doing anything right. Help me to surrender control like I've never done before. Show me my mission—not what I think it should be, but what You're calling me to. Give me clarity to see how You've been shaping me through every hard thing I've walked through. Help me to trust that nothing is wasted in Your hands. Give me the courage to live out the mission You've placed on my heart, even on the days when I feel like I'm barely surviving. Remind me that I'm building something beautiful, even when I can't see it yet. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Take Action: Discover Your Mission This Week
Ready to create your own mission statement? Set aside 20-30 minutes this week and work through these five steps:
Step 1: Pray and Ask God for Clarity Spend time asking: What are You calling me to in this season? What gifts and passions have You given me? What hard things have I walked through, and how might You want to use those for Your purpose?
Step 2: Identify Your Core Values Write down 3-5 values that matter most to you as a mom. These are your non-negotiables—things like faith, health, advocacy, connection, or peace.
Step 3: Think About Your Unique Calling What are you passionate about? What makes your family unique? What experiences have shaped you? Your mission should reflect YOUR specific calling, not someone else's.
Step 4: Consider Your Family's Needs What does your family need from you RIGHT NOW—not five years ago or five years from now? Be honest about this season.
Step 5: Write Your Mission Statement Combine everything into 1-3 sentences that are:
- Clear enough to remember
- Specific enough to guide decisions
- Flexible enough for different situations
- Meaningful enough to motivate you on hard days
Example: "I strive to nurture the faith of my husband and kids, advocate fiercely for them, and create the foundations for a physically and mentally healthy family."
Once you've written yours, put it somewhere you'll see it daily—on your mirror, in your kitchen, as your phone wallpaper. Then come share it in our Facebook group! We'd love to celebrate with you.
