Speaking Life Into Motherhood EP 42

What if 2026 could be different?

(It starts with ONE hour)

Hey mama,

The holidays and end of the year are often a time of reflection. We look back at the year that was, think about what we want for the year ahead, and somewhere in between the wrapping paper cleanup and managing the chaos of schedule changes, we wonder if we can actually make next year different.

Here's what I've learned over the past 2 years: I don't have to be perfect, but I do need systems. The simple, imperfect systems that saved my speech therapy practice from chaos have started transforming my home life too. And as we close out 2025 and prepare to welcome 2026, I want to invite you to give yourself a gift that no one else can give you: the gift of intentionality.

This week's episode is for every mama who's tired of winging it. Because here's the truth: the same organizational mindset that helps you succeed at work or in your business can transform your home life—without adding more complexity or overwhelming you further.

Episode 42: From Chaos to Peace: Business Systems Every Special Needs Mom Needs | Energy for Exhausted Moms

In this episode, I'm sharing:

✅ The two lists that will change how you see 2025 (hint: you've accomplished way more than you think)
✅ How to identify your 3-5 non-negotiables so you stop trying to be perfect at everything
✅ Simple 5-step systems that remove daily decision fatigue
✅ Why planning in quarters prevents February burnout
✅ The 30-minute monthly appointment that keeps you thriving instead of surviving

Friend, the women who step into the new year with a plan and systems actually experience peace. Not because their lives are perfect, but because they've stopped winging it and started being intentional.

Your New Year's challenge: Between now and January 1st, set aside ONE HOUR. Create your done list for 2025. Identify your non-negotiables for 2026. That one hour could change your entire year.

Biblical Reflection

As I was preparing these episodes, I kept coming back to this verse:

"Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10

Mama, I know you don't want to slow down for reflection because it doesn't FEEL productive. I'm the same way. But just as we need to be still before God, we need to pause and look at where we've been before we can move forward with intention.

Reflection isn't wasted time—it's the foundation for everything else. When we take time to see all God has done in and through us this year, we can step into 2026 with gratitude and clarity instead of just survival mode.

Speaking of sacred pauses—if you missed last week's episode about Frankincense, the oil brought to baby Jesus, go back and listen! It's the perfect companion to this reflective season and will remind you why slowing down is so deeply biblical.

Prayer for This Week

Father, as we celebrate the gift of Jesus and prepare for a new year, help me to slow down enough to see Your hand in this past year. Give me eyes to recognize the victories I've dismissed and the growth I've overlooked. As I look toward 2026, guide me to the non-negotiables that will help my family thrive. Thank You for Your faithfulness in 2025. Prepare my heart for breakthrough in 2026. In Jesus' name, Amen.

🌺 Wellness Corner

As you're thinking about your non-negotiables and systems for 2026, don't forget that supporting your body helps support your mind and energy. If taking your supplements consistently is one of your struggles heading into the new year (me too!), consider creating a simple morning system:

  1. 💦 Set them out the night before next to your water bottle
  2. ☕️ Take them first thing—before coffee, before anything else
  3. 🌿 Use a daily supplement system like doTERRA's Foundational Wellness that simplifies your routine

And here's a bonus tip for your self-care system: Add a drop of Frankincense essential oil to your face moisturizer each morning. Not only does it support healthy-looking skin, but that moment of applying it becomes a sacred reminder to pause and be intentional with your day. It's a simple way to care for yourself while grounding your morning in something meaningful.

Starting January 1st with these simple systems can set the tone for your entire year. Remember: systems don't have to be perfect to work. They just have to be consistent enough to create progress.

Consider this your fresh start gift to yourself as we begin a new year.

As we close out this Christmas season and step into 2026, I'm praying for you. Praying that this is your breakthrough year—not because everything will be easy, but because you'll finally have the systems and peace you've been searching for.

You are running a household, raising humans, managing therapies and appointments and IEPs and all the things. That deserves the same level of respect and intentionality you'd give any business. Actually, it deserves MORE.

Come join us in the Speaking Life Into Motherhood Facebook Community and tell me: what are YOUR non-negotiables for 2026? Let's step into this new year together!

Until next time, keep speaking life.
