Dance Parties, Frankincense & Surviving the Holidays
Hey mama,
I hope you're finding little pockets of peace in this busy holiday season. I know how hard that can be when you're juggling all the things—the gifts, the gatherings, the therapies, the meltdowns (theirs AND ours, am I right?).
That's why I wanted to make sure you caught the last two episodes of the podcast. Both are packed with practical strategies you can actually use—no extra time required.
Episode 40 Spotlight: Dance Parties & Letting Go: An Anxious Mom's Guide to Surviving Special Needs Parenting
I sat down with Jessica Schoettle, author of The Anxious Parent, and we had the most grounding conversation about managing anxiety as a mom. Her go-to strategy? Crank up the music and have a dance party. Simple, effective, and backed by science. We also talked about lowering expectations during the holidays (your kids won't remember the matching pajamas—they'll remember how it made them feel), finding humor when everything's falling apart, and building traditions that actually work for YOUR family.
EP 40: Dance Parties & Letting Go: An Anxious Mom's Guide to Surviving Special Needs Parenting
Episode 41: Anxious & Exhausted? 3 Five-Minute Ways Frankincense Can Help
If you haven't listened to this one yet, run don't walk. I dive deep into the biblical significance of frankincense (spoiler: the wise men were making a powerful statement about who Jesus is), PLUS the exciting research coming out about this oil—studies on anxiety, inflammation, skin health, and more. And I give you three ways to incorporate frankincense into your routine in 5 minutes or less. We're talking sneaking it into your morning skincare, resetting in the pick-up line, and a calming roller recipe that goes everywhere with you.

EP 41: Anxious & Exhausted? 3 Five-Minute Ways Frankincense Can Help
As I was preparing these episodes, I kept coming back to this verse:
"Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice." — Psalm 141:2
Mama, your prayers are rising. Even the ones you whisper while folding laundry. Even the ones that are just sighs because you don't have words. Even the breath prayers in the Target parking lot when everyone is losing it. God hears them all. They rise before Him like sweet incense—precious and pleasing.
This season, I pray you can release the pressure to be perfect and simply be present. Present with your kids. Present with your God. Present with yourself.
Prayer for This Week
Lord, thank You that our prayers rise before You like incense. Thank You that You don't require perfection—just presence. Help us to slow down this season, to breathe deep, and to remember that You are near. Calm our anxious hearts. Ground us in Your peace. Remind us that we are exactly the moms our children need. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Okay, this one's too good not to mention—you can get a FREE 15mL Frankincense with every 200+ PV order this month. If you listened to the podcast episode, you know why I'm excited about this. This oil has been used for thousands of years for good reason, and the research coming out on it is genuinely fascinating. It's one of those oils I reach for constantly—for calm, for focus, for skin support, for grounding during stressful moments. Getting it free is a big deal.
(And yes, you can do this up to 4 times on your account this month!)
Speaking of Frankincense... if you want to know more about the significance of the oils mentioned in Scripture—Frankincense, Myrrh, Spikenard, and more—join us for Wellness Wednesday. We'll explore these sacred oils, their uses, and why they're still powerful tools for wellness today. I'd love to see you there!
Have a topic you want discussed? Interested in being interviewed on the podcast? Looking for natural solutions for your family? I'm just an email away! :) I'd love to hear from you!
Mama, I know this season is a lot. But I hope something in this email reminded you that you don't have to do it all perfectly. A dance party counts. A breath prayer in the pick-up line counts. A moment of stillness with frankincense on your wrists counts. You're doing better than you think. Merry Christmas, friend.
Breathing deep with you,
Elyse
P.S. If these episodes resonated with you, I'd be so grateful if you could leave a review on your podcast app. Your words help other mamas find encouragement when they need it most!

You know what I mean. That place where you're watching other moms navigate the rapids—homeschooling, special needs parenting, advocating fiercely, handling meltdowns with grace—and you think, "I could never do that. She's just naturally more patient/brave/capable than me." But what if that's not the whole story?...
